Long Tall Sally Crop Top and Culotte Pants c/o // Stella McCartney Clutch // Sam Edelman Shoes (similar) // Dior Sunglasses

Nothing screams spring quite like a powder blue outfit and this crop and culotte from Long Tall Sally is what my spring outfit dreams are made of. The last time I owned a pair of culottes was in High School and they most certainly weren’t as flattering nor did they come with a coordinating crop top. Since I picked these ones up I’ve worn them numerous times; a few weeks ago with a embellished button up for a meeting and then again paired with this coordinating crop and a hot pink clutch. They are kinda the perfect pants to wear in this warm Hawaii weather and I think they will be super cute with a cotton tank and delicate pair of flat sandals!

Mexican Mule

SAMSUNG CSC

I have been a long time fan of the classic combination of ginger beer, vodka and lime…aka The Moscow Mule and have recently begun experimenting with swapping out the vodka with other liquors, for a different take on the classic mule. By simply swapping the vodka for tequila the mule is taken to another level of deliciousness and is equally as tasty if not better than the classic mule. Yep, I said it. It’s better than a Moscow Mule but thats coming from someone who has a deep love for tequila and margaritas and really all things Mexican, so giving the mule a mexican twist was a natural next step for me. Here is how you make it…

Mexican Mule:

Ingredients:
– 2 ounces tequila
– ginger beer
– lime

Directions:
– Fill a glass (or a copper mug if you have one!) with ice. Pour in the tequila and top with ginger beer and a squeeze of lime. Stir and enjoy!!

It’s so so simple yet so delicious!

SAMSUNG CSCRiller and Fount Caftan // Leopard Belt // Steve Madden Shoes // Alex and Ani Necklace c/o // Alex and Ani Bracelets here and here c/o // Daniel Wellington Watch c/o  // Saint Laurent Bag (similar under $50)

I have always loved an all black outfit with gold and cognac accents. It’s a great classic combo that is super easy to wear. It’s also one of those timeless looks that you can wear from season to season. I’ve had this Riller and Fount caftan for awhile (it is beyond comfortable!) and have worn it with numerous different belts and shoes. When styled with a leopard belt, studded sandals and gold jewelry it makes for the perfect and comfortable outfit to run around town!

Inspiring Spaces: Chandeliers

Our little Hawaiian bungalow is coming along quite nicely and really starting to feel like home. I made some major progress on my closet/office and while I hunt for a few more things I need to complete the room I’ll be switching gears and tackling the breakfast nook. We recently found an old wood Amish corner bench on craig’s list and gave it a fresh coat of paint. I’m kinda obsessed with how it turned out… its amazing what a little paint can do!! Next up for the nook, updating the chandelier. The house currently has an old chandelier with a stained glass floral motif and while it is lovely, it just doesn’t fit our style…so the hunt for a new chandelier is on! Here are a few looks I’m eyeing…

Instagram Outfits

Happy Monday! Wow, what a productive weekend! my husband and I got so much done around the house; we hung pictures, moved a few rugs around, and painted the bench we scored on craig’s list for our breakfast nook (before and after to come, soon!). I was literally in jean shorts, a tee shirt and trucker hat ALL weekend. Totally unglamorous but it felt good to keep things simple. So, since I kept things REALLY low key this weekend, I’m sharing a few of my favorite Instagram outfits that never made the blog…

Peanut Butter & Jelly Muffins with a Crumble Topping

SAMSUNG CSC

If I told you that I’ve been living off these muffins for the past two weeks, it wouldn’t be a lie. While I suppose its a little stretch to say I’ve been living off them and eating nothing else, it almost seems that way because one of these for breakfast keeps you SO FULL! The combination of oats, peanut butter and chia seeds not only make for a super tasty muffin, but a nutritious one at that! I followed this  and used blueberries (strawberries are really good, too) but feel free to use your any berry you like.
These PB&J muffins taste like a real treat, especially with the jelly filled center (!!!), but have no fear, they are totally healthy…even with the crumble topping. Here is how you make them…SAMSUNG CSC

SAMSUNG CSCPeanut Butter and Jelly Muffins with a Crumble Topping:

Makes 12

Ingredients:
– 1 1/2 cup oats
– 1 cup oat flour (you can buy oat flour or you can simply blend oats in a food processor or high powered blender)
– 1 cup peanut butter, I like crunchy
– 1/2 cup almond milk
– 1/4 cup honey
– 1 ripe banana, mashed
– 2 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
(you need about 1/4 cup total)
Crumble Topping
– 1/4 cup cold coconut oil
– 1/4 cup raw sugar
– 1/4 cup oat flour
– 1 tablespoon oats

Directions:
– Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
– In a large bowl, mash banana and mix in all wet ingredients. Add dry ingredients and mix well.
– Grease a muffin tin (or use muffin foils) and spoon 1 tablespoon of the mixture into each spot. Top with 1 teaspoon jam then cover with 1 tablespoon of the muffin batter.
– For the crumble topping, combine all ingredients and mix using your hands. You will need to break up the coconut oil and mix until you have pea sized clumps. Spoon equally over each muffin.
– Bake for 20-25 minutes.
– Let cool and enjoy!
I find that they stay the best in the refrigerator and make for a great grab and go breakfast!
