Welcome to The Busy Girl’s Guide, a bi-weekly article where I share my favorite tips, tricks and lifestyle hacked aimed at showing you just how easy it is to add a little style to your every day, busy girl schedules. I love to entertain and there’s something about the start of spring that always has me itching to throw a dinner party. When I’m planning to host a dinner party I like to think about the ‘look’ and theme of the party before I plan the menu and set the table to ensure that there is a cohesive feel to the party. Having a theme is KEY!
I’m a sucker for cloth napkins and have to say they’re one of my must-haves for entertaining. The tablescape can be simple but add cloth napkins and and it instantly becomes dinner party ready. There are so many different ways to set the table and a lot of the detail comes from how the napkins are folded. Today I’m sharing with you the most adorable bow napkin fold.
It’s super easy to fold and adds a fun and feminine flair to your table. These bow napkins would be seriously perfect for a place settings at a bridal shower, girly lunch or fun dinner party. Here’s how you do it…
What you’ll need:
-napkin rings
-patterned or solid cloth napkins.
How to fold:
-start by laying the napkin so the backside is facing up.
– fold into a triangle and take the point where the two edges meet and fold it over 1/3 of the way.
– fold the napkin up in thirds so you have a long, skinny rectangle.
– fold the two ends inward so they cross over each other. Pinch the center and slip the napkin through the ring until its centered.
– pull the tales downward and fluff the bow.
-place on the center of the plate
Taa-dah! How fun and easy is that. There are so many different ways to fold a napkin but I have to say…this might be my favorite!
What do you think? Do you have a favorite way to fold napkins?
