Pink Blush Kimono (similar) // James Perse Tank // One Teaspoon Bandits Shorts // Zara Gladiators // Saint Laurent Bag // Forever 21 Boater Hat

A fringe kimono is the perfect layering piece and a definite must have for spring and summer. Not only does it freshen up a simple jeans and tee outfit but it makes for a great swimsuit coverup for a day at the beach or pool. I styled this one from Pink Blush with a lace up gladiator sandal for a more edgy look and paired it with a simple black tank and my go-to cut-offs. Toped things off with a straw boaters hat and round sunnies for a cute yet casual weekend outfit!

Papaya Gazpacho

SAMSUNG CSCThings are heating up here in Hawaii and as we get closer and closer to summer I am finding that the last thing I want to do is turn on the oven or stand over the stove to cook dinner. Firing up the grill is the usual go to on hot summer nights for our family but when we’re looking for a quick weeknight dinner (or a great make-ahead dish) I always go for a fresh and flavorful gazpacho. I’ve shared my recipe for Watermelon Gazpacho and Cucumber Almond Gazpacho on the blog and I’ve made countless other variations that never disappoint. I recently found myself with a few very ripe papayas and needed to find a way to incorporate them into a dish, STAT. I decided to give my classic gazpacho recipe a little Hawaiian twist by adding the sweet fruit to the mix. The papayas added the perfect amount of creaminess to the soup and gave it a slightly sweet, but not too sweet, flavor.  Serve as a dinner starter or with a crusty baguette as a meal.

Monrow Dress (in blue) // Pikolinos Sandals c/o // Forever 21 Necklace

For months I have been ever so slightly dropping hints to Marc that I wanted a bike to ride to the beach and to cruise around our little beach town, (if you know me you know that when I say ‘ever so slightly’ I really mean I was dropping MAJOR hints) and he surprised me with this teal beauty for my birthday. Naturally I had to hop right on and take it for a little spin and I can’t tell you how much fun it is! I see many, many summer beach rides in my future!
Let me switch gears real quick (you see what I did there?) and talk about these sandals from Pikolinos. This is my first time owning a pair of their shoes and I can honestly say that they are the most comfortable shoes EVER! It’s like walking on little marshmallows and I can’t get enough of this gorgeous beading and super soft leather. You can see more of their collection here. Make sure you snag a pair of their sandals for summer, your feet will thank you!

Sofia by Vix Dress c/o // Schutz Erlina Sandals (similar and under $20) // Hobo Bag // Farmers Market Hat (similar) // DIY Tassel Bracelets

Sunny afternoons in Hawaii call for feminine little sundresses. This Sofia by Vix dress has the most adorable ruffled hem and draw string waist which make for an ultra flattering fit. Paired with a couple beaded tassel bracelets for added dose of color and lace up gladiator sandals to complete the look. The closer we get to summer and the more humid it gets here on Oahu, I’ve been finding that itty-bitty sundresses and denim cutoffs are about the only things that keep me somewhat comfortable in the heat. You can expect to see a lot more of both in the upcoming months and I promise, I’ll try to keep things fresh and interesting!
