When Neiman Marcus, Ala Moana asked me to come into the store to chat with Hylton Lea, the director of skincare at Le Metier de Beaute, I couldn’t say “yes” fast enough. I’ve always been interested in skincare and was excited to jump on opportunity to get some expert tips from someone who knows the in’s and out’s of the industry. Hylton couldn’t have been more amazing- he has such a warm and welcoming personality and we bonded over our love for the kale and quinoa salad at the espresso bar (seriously, it’s so good!!). Hylton is a wealth of knowledge and you can see his passion for skincare and the brand when he speaks…he also shared some LIFE CHANGING tips with me that I’m so excited to pass along to you guys!
Le Metier de Beaute, which translates to The Craft of Beauty, launched 7 years ago in New York on three founding principles; quality, craftsmanship and design. What started as a color brand soon profected and launched a full skincare line. The skincare line is unique in that Le Metier de Beaute works closely with pharmaceutical companies to use a pharmaceutical grade delivery that drives the product 24% deeper into your skin than any other product on the market (!!!). They incorporate retinol into the product to really change the texture and tone of your skin for results that you’ll see in just 1 week. They have even found a way to incorporate this technology into their tinted moisturizer!
When I sat down with Hylton I had a few questions I wanted to ask him and here is what he said…
3 Products to Invest In?
- Rejuvenating Anti-aging Night Creme– made with Retinol to help smooth skin texture and encourage cell turnover- all while you sleep!
- Replenishing Anti-aging Day Creme– Slows the formation of expression lines and bonus- it has sunscreen!
- Neck and Décolleté Firming Creme– Works to diminish the appearance of fine lines. Insider tip:NEVER put a moisturizer on your neck, most are too heavy for the skin on your neck and can actually speed up the appearance of fine lines.
Personal Favorites?
- Chem60 Pro Peel– a blend of Salicylic and Glycolic acids work to penetrate the skin’s surface leaving you instantly rejuvenated.
- GLOW Mask– uses vitamins A, B, C, D, E and F to rebuid and strengthen the skins appearance.
- Rejuvenating Anti-aging Night Creme
Quick Tip for Taking Make-up from Day to Night?
- Add extra coverage using Le Metier de Beaute’s Tinted Moisturizer for a more refined look. Play up the eyes using Eye Liner for more of an intense pop!
At What Age Should a Woman Really Begin to Use Ani-Aging Products?
- 29 on the dot!
I’m counting any products used before then as extra credit- makes sense right?!
