Last week our sweet little guy turned 6 months. I can’t believe it!! It feels like he has been in our lives so much longer while at the same time it feels like I gave birth to him yesterday. He truly is the light of our lives and we get such a kick out of watching him grow, develop and explore his surroundings. There are so many changes that happen from 3-6 months so it has been a really exciting stage!
Miles has continued to be a really great sleeper. We did hit a bit of a regression at 4 months and he went from sleeping through the night to waking up once. So, I’m still feeding him once during the night but luckily he falls right back to sleep and doesn’t wake up until morning. Just this past week we experienced some serious teething which really threw a wrench in his sleep routine. Some nights he wakes up anywhere from 3-4 times and others it’s once or twice. Needless to say we have both been a little on the tired side this week! Luckily, Miles has still been napping really well which allows me to recharge and get some work done. We’ve had an amazing experience with the Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit so I plan to keep him in it for now.
We have a blast playing with Miles and now that he can sit up on his own, it’s even more fun! We still play with the same toys we were playing with at his Three Month Update but with the addition of this activity jumper which is really great, especially when Miles has some extra energy to burn. We also recently picked up a mini pool which has been a nice way to keep cool on some of these warmer days and I’ve been trying to hold off on buying extra toys and “things” in an attempt to keep the baby clutter down to a minimum but it’s a little hard!
Not much has changed in this department in the past three months. We did add the ERGObaby 360 baby carrier to the mix which has been awesome. Miles loves facing outwards and it has been a great product to use on hikes and beach walks. As Miles has gotten bigger I find myself reaching for the ERGO more and more for baby wearing.
Miles started on solids at 4.5 months and it has been so fun watching him taste and experience new foods. His very first food was avocado and since then we’ve added quite a variety into the mix. I have been using the Beaba Babycook to make Miles’s food and I can’t say enough good things about this machine. It makes making baby food so incredibly easy! So far I’ve made sweet potatoes, peas, butternut squash…all of which he has loved, and apples which he is still on the fence about. We use these spoons and this silicone container to freeze individual servings of food.
It looks like we will soon venture into the world of teething so if you have any tips, please share! I’ll need all the help I can get!
