I am so excited to finally share Miles’s Vintage Americana Nursery with you! A few months ago I shared the inspiration for his nursery, here, and I absolutely love how the finished product turned out. This was such a fun project to work on while I was pregnant and the room came together better than I could have imagined.
We converted our guest room into the nursery but needed to find a way to keep the full sized bed in the room. At first I was a little against wanting to keep the bed because the room is on the smaller side but now I’m so glad that we have the extra bed. For one, both our families have visited since Miles was born so having a place for them to sleep was important and second, Miles and I love to lay on the bed while reading. Now, I absolutely love having an extra bed in the nursery and if you have the room, I highly recommend it!
The inspiration for the nursery started with a framed vintage American flag. I love the idea of decorating with framed vintage flags, scarves, fabric, etc and when I spotted this vintage 48 star flag I knew that it would be the perfect piece to hang over the crib. To complete the look, I accessorized the room with these fun star print sheets and a few great pillows and on the opposite wall, at the foot of the bed, we added shelving to hold and display his books which makes grabbing a book to read in bed super easy! One of my favorite pieces of the room is the turquoise crochet lei that hangs on the stags neck. The midwife that delivered Miles gave him this lei when he was born (in true Hawaii fashion) and I know that it will be something that I cherish forever.
