DIY Patterned Tea Lights

DIY patterned tea lights

Now that spring is officially here and the temps are warming up I’m really looking forward to taking advantage of the longer days by hosting more cocktail parties‚Ķal fresco! I love to entertain and it doesn’t always have to be a well planned event. Even the most spontaneous of get togethers can be just as charming and definitely just as fun. One of my must haves for entertaining, indoors or outdoors, is candles so I make sure to keep a variety stocked so I can be ready to entertian in a moments notice. ¬†These small tea light candles pack a big punch when it comes to setting the mood and they let off just the right amount of flickering light.
I have decided to take my tea light candles up a notch but adding a strip of washi tape around the base. I love how this small transformation makes these rather inexpensive candles look a bit more sophisticated! Since my home is decorated in blue and white I opted for this simple blue and white check but the options are limitless.
Here’s how you do it, simply measure the washi tape around the circumference of the candle, cut and stick. It couldn’t be easier! Now time for the cocktail parties!
Have a great weekend!

  4. How do you stick them on? Glue, tape? haha Sorry I’m a DIY amateur… lol

    • Hi Casan! I used washi tape which is basically a thin patterned tape. So it was sticky on the back and adhered really well to the tea lights.
      Hope that helps!
